At The Wandering Line we run patchwork and quilting workshops. It is our aim to offer the traditional, modern and unusual in one of our well-lit spacious teaching areas and we try to make all workshops as interesting and varied as possible. From the complete beginner to the more experienced you're certain to find the course that's right for you.

If you wish to pay by cheque please call for availability and then print out and complete our booking form and either drop it in to our shop or send it with your cheque payment to Workshops, The Wandering Line, 950 Brighton Road, Purley, Surrey CR8 2LP.

| “Jacob’s Ladder” is a cot quilt constructed from four of these traditional patchwork blocks along with some plain and 4-patch block borders. It has a finished size of 36” x 50”. This workshop is designed for those with some previous experience with rotary cutting and machine piecing but this is not essential. Clear instructions will be given for these techniques. |

A great class to reinforce rotary cutting basics and for those who enjoy the design possibilities offered by this quilt. |

Workshop Highlight | Janet Clare
 Fancy joining us on our exciting and unique JOURNEY?
Do you want to develop your creativity? Learn new techniques? And improve your existing skills? Do you want to gain the confidence to experiment and create textile pieces that are truly unique to you? Then this is the course for you!
Over the ten month course we will be exploring a wide variety of textile techniques, including embellishing, machine stitching and dyeing. On each inspiring JOURNEY day you will watch demonstrations and be taught new techniques before trying them for yourselves by developing a collection of samples. What you choose to do with these new found skills is entirely up to you as there will be no compulsory homework and no exams! This JOURNEY is very much about you and how much you want to gain from it. At the end of the course you will have samples and projects reflecting each stage of your JOURNEY, confidence in your creativity and be equipped to develop your own sewing identity which truly reflects your own personality and interests.
As a member you’ll also have unlimited access to the exclusive JOURNEY forum and the expertise of our designer Janet Clare who will be available between days to offer words of encouragement and answer any queries you may have. And of course, you will be most welcome to come in and sew or just chat anytime at the Wandering Line too.
The workshop will run on Tuesdays , 23 March, 20 April, 18 May, 15 June, 20 July, 10 August, 21 September, 19 October, 16 November and 14 December 2010 , from 10am to 4pm. The price is £40.00 per month and will suit all levels.
Terms of Booking
- Please note that all one day workshops must be paid in full at the time of booking. For the longer series of workshops, if you have difficulty paying in full, please discuss payment options with Debbie.
- On booking, we will provide you with a bring list.
- On the day, you will also need to bring a packed lunch but tea and coffee will be available all day.
- If you need to cancel your booking, we require 10 days notice in order for you to receive a refund.
- We wouldn't want to but there may be occasions where we need to cancel a workshop. If this happens, we will give you 10 days notice, with a full refund or shop credit.
- Sewing machine hire is available in the shop for £5.00 per day - please book in advance.
